Hi, I'm KC from G free foodie. This isthe recipe all my friends asked for,
brown sugar bacon. We also call it pigcandy.
This is incredibly easy and totallydelicious. So first, I have some
gluten-free, you want to make sure it'sgluten free, thick-cut bacon, so I've got
brown sugar, I'm gonna add a teaspoon ofchili powder, you could do more if you
wanted to, but this is the thecombination I like. I'm gonna take each
strip of bacon and coat it with thismixture, and then you're gonna put it on
a rack over a baking sheet. You'll seethat I lined mine with foil, there's some
really fabulous brown sugar bacon greasedrippings at the end of this, but they
will stick to your pan. So you're justgonna complete this for all eight
strips. Okay, last strip on the rack here, and I'm
gonna look and see if any of them arekind of missing some spots, and add a
little more sugar to each, so if you havesome leftover, cool, if you did a better
job than me and it's all fully caked onthe bacon, strong work. So we're just
gonna do this, and then this is gonna gointo the oven at 400 degrees for 15 to
18 minutes. You want to keep an eye on itbecause you don't want the bacon to
scorch. Okay, into the oven, I can't wait. All right, the bacon is out of the oven,
and while it's still sticky, I'm gonnatake some chopped, these are roasted
pistachios, this is my favorite, you coulddefinitely use pecans or any nut if you
wanted to, or eat it just like this.In fact, my friend Kyra who's won Cupcake
Wars gluten-free three times, tops acupcake with candied bacon. Give it a bit
of a pat, just to make sure, it's right in that
sugar, and you're gonna let this cool, which is the hardest part of this recipe.
Look at this goodness. I cut one of these, not because I always cut them, but
because you're watching me. Make this, make it again, and then make it the time
after that. Check out my expresso candiedbacon recipe on G free foodie - adios.
I'm pigging out.
